Fourth of July in Huntington Beach

As a business that has been based in Huntington Beach, California since our inception over five years ago, the employees at Full Sail Graphics & Marketing love celebrating the Fourth of July in our hometown!

For those of you who are local to the Orange County area, you know exactly what we mean. For those of you who do not, here are 5 excellent reasons why we recommend celebrating the 4th of July in Huntington Beach!

  1. The Parade

Everyone loves a good parade. Groups of people gather together down Main Street to watch as floats that honor the police, veterans, and other notables drive past. The parade attracts endless amounts of viewers, many of which stake their viewing area out several days before the Fourth.

At the parade, it seems like you always run into at least one other person that you know. A great aspect about the Fourth of July and the parade in particular is that it brings everyone together outside of their homes. Holidays like the Fourth of July make this big city seem like a small close-knit community.

  1. Red, White, and Blue

July Fourth is a federal holiday that commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This Declaration effectively ended the rule of the British empire over the thirteen original colonies.

The Founders’ experiment of self-rule/ democracy is still in existence today. So now, nearly two hundred and fifty years later, Americans have the privilege of celebrating our hard-earned freedom and independence. There is nothing more patriotic than that!

  1. Bikes Everywhere

If you drive into the city, it is best to find a place to park very early in the day. From 10 in the morning until 10 at night, cars are definitely not the best mode of transportation in the city. Everyone in Huntington Beach knows that the best activity on the Fourth of July is riding your bike around the city with friends, family, or even solo!

  1. Celebrate with Anyone

On the Fourth of July, you do not have to put up with any theological or political debates about the day. Just enjoy it with whomever you choose.

Huntington Beach has made the Fourth incredibly kid-friendly. Children of all ages can enjoy the parade in the morning, spend the day at the beach, and enjoy the festivities. There are even several households where the kids throw water balloons at bicyclists riding past.

The holiday is definitely very adult friendly as well. There are countless bars on the Main Street. And, just as many people are outside drinking or playing games in their front yards. Plus, who doesn’t love patriotic jello shots!

  1. The Firework Show

A city sanctioned firework show that strives to outdo itself every single year? Sign me up. The great part is the city of Huntington Beach has even made safe fireworks legal just for the Fourth of July!
